Day 4 - 2 weeks til pay day
This next 2 weeks is really going to drag, I have £94 in my current account £19 in my savings pot which autosaves and rounds up everytime I spend. I am also waiting on £37 of expenses waiting to be paid back from work, which is really annoying as that is from 11th June and should have been paid by now. So all together that is £150 til the 15th (well the 14th at 4pm... thanks Monzo) so for 13 days that is about £11.50 a day. I don't have any plans for the rest of this week or the weekend so really and truly no money should be spent, I have food so that is covered, I just have to be strict with myself.
Next week though I am travelling for work on Monday evening, then back Tuesday afternoon. I know my colleagues are going to want to go out to eat/drink on the Monday evening but I am going to have an excuse in my back pocket. Because even though you can expense your dinner up to a certain amount, I don't want to spend the money in the first place and then have to wait 4 weeks to get it back. So my plan is to go to the shops on the way to my hotel, grab a pot noodle and a drink and that will be my exciting evening. I'll bring my laptop so I can watch my shows and blog of course, but I am serious, it's not like I really want to hang out with them anyway no offence.
The good thing about working from home is I really don't have to spend anything, in the office if you go in without lunch you literally have to spend the money. I have been good the last 2 times I have been in the office over the last couple weeks, just been bringing in leftovers which is easiest. I hope from July payday I won't be in this position and I can manage everything a bit better. I mean I know June I spent loads on going out so it's not like I don't know where my money went, I am just going to make smarter decisions. I did also have some unexpected costs this month though but that's fine.
On another note, I am getting more comfortable using the Metatrader5 app which is great. When I first opened it I felt so disheartened and was almost instantly over it. But now my account is £100 in profit and I am going to keep setting targets on this demo account before I go live... more on that in my next post.
