Day 10 - Payday (finally)

The day is finally here. I did actually get paid at 4pm yesterday so moved some money around. I think I am on track to overpay my mortgage this month to get those arreas down so it will go from £737 to £289 and then next month be paid off completely so that will be a little weight off my shoulders. BUT HMRC think I am earning a bit more than I am so I got paid nearly £300 less this month which is a real bummer. But I am not letting it get me down still keeping on track and sticking to my plan as best I can, I know that regardless I will be in a good position in the next few months with some outgoings gone, so regardless if I get paid a little less I can work with it. The trading took a little downfall as I went to a £3k demo account rather than £100k and all of a sudden I was making bad moves. I have been journalling though and today was a good day, I am reading the charts and trying to really understand them rather than just making blind decisions and following trends that are wrong. ...

Day 9 - Happy to be home

The hotel was lovely but boy am I glad to be home. Horrific journey back on the train, so safe to say I will just drive next time I have a work trip. Overall good though, got my expenses paid, did get myself a Chinese though after a horrible journey home so we are at £40 right now, which is fine until payday. Trading has been interesting today, discovering the volatile market of gold which is exciting but scary. I just want to learn as much as I can, because payday I am definitely buying a prop firm account. I want to keep learning but I also need to make some moves to progress my life, after the day I've had to day it is definitely time for a change. I learn best by jumping into the deep end so I know this is what I need to do, I am ready for the challenge and also the excitement of it all. Anyway spending for today: £37 received in expenses £7 spent at Tesco for groceries (used a £3 voucher) £18.37 spent on Chinese (£19 rounded up) £1.82 sent to my other account to stop is from g...

Day 8 - £30.42

Home before 8pm is always so stunning, we went to dinner at 6 literally across the way, back at 7.40 just got showered and gonna chill til Love Island comes on. I feel very accomplished. Spent £30.13 at dinner including service charge, spent £12 at Tesco for bevs, plasters and toothpaste and I feel great. £30 in my account, £37 on the way and I know I will be just fine until next week. On another note, trading was a mess today, took some really big buys, and had to leave it for the day because I was like £3k down, but was so busy with travelling and day to day stuff, just set my TP and was on my way and thankfully it hit and I'm clear and back in profit. The main thing I need to focus on is my strategy moving forwards, I am glad to have a day like this though because it was going too well and I needed to hit a learning curve. I am still very interested in learning the basics, plus if I want to get a funded account they will have rules and I need to stick to them. Still lots to lear...

Day 7 - £65.25

Had a lovely weekend, sunbathed in the park for 4 hours yesterday and just enjoyed relaxing. A very relaxed day today, been napping, watching podcasts, a bit of paper trading, a lovely Sunday if I do say so. Here's what I spent yesterday: - £5.25 TfL from Friday (rounded up to £6) - £5.50 at Tesco on dinner when we got back from the park (rounded up to £6) -£7.60 on a bolt journey (rounded up to £8) Now that is Monzo, I did also spend on my credit cards because I didn't want my liquid money gone. - £30.29 on credit card 1, this was park snacks, drinks and salmon for dinner today -£5.50 on credit card card 2, on ice cream at the park I don't feel bad about any of those spends, tomorrow my biggest spend will be this work trip dinner and then just a week to survive before payday. I think having no spend days and also knowing what my max day spend is works, will definitely do that when I get paid as my spending money will be £500 for the month. Let's see how we go. - Girl i...

Day 6 - £79.25

That's how much I have in my current account, expenses are on their way next week and actually the fugure doesn't scare me. I've been having low/no spend days, I've been busy with work and just enjoying things like the park rather than being out out. Don't get me wrong though, as soon as that July pay hits, once I have sorted out bills and debt repayments, the enjoyment will continue. There is a lot of fun to be had on a budget and if anyone knows anything about that it's me. Not everything has to be centred around a drink but I do like a little drink especially when the sun is out and I'm having a good time.  The park is always great for a cheap picnic with a few drinks. Bring home made sandwiches or easy to travel with food, mix your own cocktails and bring an old sheet and enjoy the sun. Maybe bring your speaker, but don't be annoying with the music too loud. I am a pro at window shopping, because for so long I didn't have the money so I am used t...

Day 5 - starting my trading journey

Okay so this is not going to be a get rich quick scheme I promise! I have genuinely been interested in trading for years, but was always put off by how complex it seemed. I think what has made it different this time, is I downloaded an app called GO Forex and it's a learning account where you can trade a £10K account, and it also has little quizzes that you answer and lessons to work through. So for the first time I feel like I am beginning to understand, rather than just having information go in one ear and out the other. I am not rushing to use my own money, I need to spend the next month just learning all that I can learn, deciding on my strategy and building a level of consistency. Like I said in my last post, when I first opened Metatrader5 I felt sick and it put me off instantly. Then I reminded myself that it's a demo account, I can make some mistakes while I am learning, press all the buttons and just figure it out. What made it instantly better was tidying up my chart,...

Day 4 - 2 weeks til pay day

This next 2 weeks is really going to drag, I have £94 in my current account £19 in my savings pot which autosaves and rounds up everytime I spend. I am also waiting on £37 of expenses waiting to be paid back from work, which is really annoying as that is from 11th June and should have been paid by now. So all together that is £150 til the 15th (well the 14th at 4pm... thanks Monzo) so for 13 days that is about £11.50 a day. I don't have any plans for the rest of this week or the weekend so really and truly no money should be spent, I have food so that is covered, I just have to be strict with myself. Next week though I am travelling for work on Monday evening, then back Tuesday afternoon. I know my colleagues are going to want to go out to eat/drink on the Monday evening but I am going to have an excuse in my back pocket. Because even though you can expense your dinner up to a certain amount, I don't want to spend the money in the first place and then have to wait 4 weeks to ge...

Day 3 - I want to be rich!

In 2018 my bank at the time decided to give me £17,000 which was completely insane. At this time my credit was great so there was no issue with them giving that to me, I think there was a phone call to run me through a few details but that was it. I was 20 years old and that was the most money I had ever seen, and it was in my account. My plan with that money was to spend £10k on this serviced apartment scheme, unfortunately for me it turned out to be a scam. Now I did get the money back, but I had to go back and forth for a long time and it was keeping me awake at night.  When I was in my last year at College I remember saying to my mum I really wanted to start my own business, I thought I would have a fashion brand or something but had no clue. When I started my first full time office job out of College it was all I could think about, being self-employed and not having to work. So when this opportunity came along, I was so excited at the chance to make money in property. All I wo...
